Salvage Yard Shine Boys

"Salvage Yard Shine Boys" bills itself as a faith-based, family-friendly film, but its content—featuring moonshine, kidnapping, and dysfunction—might raise some eyebrows. The film's attempt to capture the spirit of "The Dukes of Hazzard" doesn't quite hit the mark, coming off more as a vehicle for the director's daughter's music career than a standalone piece. The film is directed by Chris Hensel, who has a connection to the Duke's legacy as Jeb Stuart Duke, and features Byron Cherry, famously known as Coy Duke and Cindy Wills, who was Catherine Bach's stunt double on the original show. Cherry gives a commendable performance with the material he's provided, Wills shines as Gloria, and Ken Mahan holds his own as Ken. However, the direction and some performances leave one questioning if the final product truly reflects the original script.
